Rawl Bolts are screw-threaded fasteners that secure heavy items with solid concrete surfaces. They comprise bolt expansion brackets and a wedge to hold all pieces together. The rawl bolt is a high-quality anchor bolt used for construction, renovation projects, and industrial maintenance.
The primary function of a rawl bolt is to hold the objects together to secure them from falling or moving when subjected to forces attempting to move them, which may be natural (like earthquakes or winds) or manufactured.
They are mainly used to install concrete, block, and stone structures. Their physical formation offers a greater degree of expansion and tolerance to variations in hole sizes. They are mainly designed to fix items with concrete surfaces only. These rawl bolt fasteners use a mechanical locking torque. Once a rawl bolt is adequately put into the hole, the head of the rawl bolt is rotated clockwise. This causes the lower portion to move up, making expansion brackets stretch along with the working conical end of the rawl bolt.
As a result, the rawl bolt becomes more significant in diameter than the drilled hole and tightly couples the base material due to friction. DIC Fasteners Rawl bolts are manufactured in various sizes to meet all types of applications.
Installation Process of Rawl Bolt:
During this process, you must be careful because the installation process is not easy. The following are the steps:-
The first step in installing a rawl bolt is to target the area where you want to install it. Use a hammer drill to drill holes with the stated embedment depth and size.
The hole drilled needs to be slightly larger than the fastener's size. This way, you have enough space to properly tighten the rawl bolt and get the best clamping strength.
Remove dust and waste created while drilling, as this will block the passage and make the bolt slip.
Tighten the rawl bolt to the point it covers the internal threads; otherwise, it can get harmed during its insertion; then insert the bolt into the hole. You can tap the rawl bolt with a hammer to insert it correctly.
Loosen the rawl bolt and place the item seated on the application surface. Now tighten the rawl bolt adequately to achieve the best possible clamping strength.
